Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed and published by CD Projekt. The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe. Players assume the first-person perspective of a customisable mercenary known as V, who can acquire skills in hacking and machinery with options for melee and ranged combat.
It would be an understatement to say that Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most hyped game launches in recent memory. While the initial announcement did happen in 2012, it wasn’t until the developers showcased the game at E3 2018 when it suddenly exploded in popularity. Then last year, the studio announced that Keanu Reeves would be part of the game. Reeves appeared on stage during the Xbox E3 2019 event and ended up giving us one of the best memes of 2019. The game also finally got a launch date – April 16, 2020.
Will Cyberpunk 2077 appear in Xbox Game Pass?
Cyberpunk 2077 will definitely not be available on Xbox Game Pass on the world premiere. Also, the developers have no plans at the moment to add Cyberpunk 2077 to the Xbox Game Pass library at a later date.
Pondsmith onstage, wearing a microphone on his head Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith acted as a consultant since 2012. Cyberpunk 2077 was developed by CD Projekt Red. It is based on Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk role-playing game franchise; Pondsmith started consulting on the project in 2012. He also appears in it as a character. The game drew its influences from the 1982 film Blade Runner, manga and anime series Ghost in the Shell, and video games System Shock (1994) and Deus Ex (2000). Pondsmith’s follow-up to Cyberpunk V3.0, Cyberpunk Red, also made an impact on the lore. The game cost an estimated 1.2 billion Polish złoty US$313 million) to develop, making it one of the most expensive games ever made.
