On March 23, Sensor Tower, a mobile application data analysis company, announced the top 10 list of the world’s hot mobile games in February this year.
According to the data, in February this year, Tencent’s Honor of Kings attracted $225 million (about 1.4 billion yuan) from the App Store and Google Play worldwide, returning to the top of the global mobile game bestseller list. Revenue from China’s iOS market accounts for 95.2%, and overseas market revenue accounts for 4.8%.
Tencent’s well-known “chicken-eating” mobile game “PUBG Mobile” (merged “Peace Elite” revenue) ranked second with a revenue of $205 million.
Of this, 64.2% of the revenue comes from the iOS version of Elite for Peace, and the revenue in the U.S. market accounts for 7.7%.
The other five other games on the list are Mihayou Original God, King Candy Crush Saga and Roblox.
It is worth mentioning that in 2021, Tencent’s “PUBG Mobile” (merged “Peace Elite” revenue) and “Honor of Kings” global revenue exceeded $2.8 billion (about 17.8 billion yuan), ranking first and second in the global best-selling mobile game list, up 9% year-on-year and 14.7%.
Sensor Tower said that in February 2022, global mobile game players spent $6.6 billion on the App Store and Google Play, down 7.6% year-on-year. The United States remains the world’s highest-paid market for mobile games, contributing $1.9 billion, accounting for 28.6% of the world’s total revenue. Japan ranks second, accounting for 18.8%; China’s iOS market ranks third, accounting for 17%.
