Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: Get a chance to claim an abandoned Tent

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 lets you claim abandoned tents by finding them and interacting with them. In a match, a tent is considered abandoned when the player who pitched it is eliminated. You can’t take over a tent pitched by a still-active player.

Since tents are pitched by other players, there are no guaranteed locations to find abandoned ones. Generally, players place their tents near or at their favorite drop spots. You will usually find abandoned tents near popular locations, including The Daily Bugle, The Sanctuary, The Butter Barn, Greasy Grove (tents inside the outdoor recreation store in the middle of town usually are abandoned), and The Joneses. However, all of the named locations are usually pretty busy, and which is busiest during a given match largely depends on the flight path of the Battle Bus.

The most popular camping spots will be those located directly below and close to the bus’ flight path, and tents will therefore end up abandoned there in large numbers. They’re also usually the most dangerous places to start a match, so be warned.

When you find an abandoned tent, interact with it to claim it. It is now possible to store a few items in it or to take a nap if you are struggling.
