Seeing your Fortnite ping is helpful if you are tweaking your hardware and/or software settings to improve your connection speed or if you are having a bad run of form and wish to blame it on your technology. It should also work with Epic’s technology.
How to show ping in Fortnite
- In Fortnite, you can see ping by going to the sidebar menu
- Selecting the icon that looks like a cog overlapping a menu.
- Choose Settings and select the Game UI tab.
- This is the third icon from the left, marked by a rectangular icon with other shapes and symbols inside.
- In HUD Options, select Net Debug Stats, and turn it on.
- When you are done, save your changes and start the match.
On the top-left of the screen, next to your player name, you will now see a shortlist of stats, among which is ping. The ping indicates the speed of your connection to Fortnite’s servers. You want your connection to the server to be as close to 0 as possible, so the lower the number, the faster it will be. It’s very rare to achieve zero pings, and it’s perfectly normal for it to fluctuate a bit as you play.
